MC-M03
Italian born and influenced by the likes of Matisse, Cezanne, Monet and Manet, this Post-Impressionist art master paints magical South African scenes with broad brushstrokes and a warm Mediterranean-influenced colour palette; he is able to combine colours in support and contrast in a way that thrills not only us the “viewers” but also other South African artists.
Mauro is one those very genuine people and is very modest about his great talent as an artist. He finds great fulfilment when his pictures tell a story to others and yield dimensions of emotions unknown to him during the creation of the work.
Main subjects depicted in all sizes are landscapes and seascapes of South Africa, African township and market scenes, rural farming scenes depicting his iconic Wood Carrier women, vineyard scenes as well as the magnificent and boldly colourful Namaqualand spring flower scenes.
In terms of collectability for the future, there is no doubt that Mauro aspires to be a new South African Master.
