  In an artistic style that is most definitely photo-realistic and showing tremendous talent and technique in the detailed treatment of his artworks, David’s content repertoire includes many of South Africa’s iconic landscape and seascape scenes, as well as African portraits.

  However, David’s heart belongs to his magnificent and beloved wildlife paintings. Filled with colourful detail and character, each of his wildlife artworks is brought to life by the attention to detail of the animal's mesmerising eyes. 

  David proudly notes: “When you get the eyes just right, the artwork comes to life and it is almost as if you can feel the animal’s stare as you walk past as if he/she is watching your every move - as they do in the wild. It’s quite special and takes me back to the wild bush every time.”

• Acclaimed South African artist David Bucklow grew up in rural Kwazulu-Natal in the 1970s and has always loved drawing and painting the wildlife that was the backdrop to his youth.
  
  David Bucklow is now one of South Africa's most renowned and collected wildlife artists. David first ventured into the art of portraiture but quickly became drawn to devoting his time and talents to photo-realistic wildlife paintings. David Bucklow's paintings are mostly photo-realistic and show tremendous talent and technique in the detailed treatment of his captivating wildlife art studies.
