Seeing a Baobab Through the Window

By Franci de Jager

Oil on Canvas / 84 x 119 cm
  • This large beautiful hand-painted artwork by Fanci de Jager depicts one of her favourite subjects, the African Boabob tree.
  • Franci de Jager is a designer at heart. Thriving on the passion of perfecting space. Having used charcoal and acrylics as my preferred medium, currently the vibrancy of oil suits my style. I am currently deeply influenced by the light and nature of my present location. This manifests in my mosaic-like cubist paintings, with inspiration from Franz Marc, especially his cubist portrayal of animal life.

When I look at nature - mainly plants of the Western Cape – I am fascinated by their design lines. Biomimicry. Committed to improvement, I am connected to various other artists where we have creative and mentoring sessions. I welcome the viewer a glimpse of the world of nature through my stained glass window.
