Vincent Reid Biography

From the Artist:“Pencil is my medium of choice because it is an extremely direct medium which satisfies my desire to express the deep contrasts and textures of my subjects. I aim to capture those moments which represent the essence of the African outdoor experience. I am inspired by the textures of nature and pencil allows me to incrementally and sometimes painstakingly carve those textures out of my paper.”

Vincent Reid Pencil Art

Whenever possible artist Vincent Reid travels with his family to the wild bushveld of South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana to study and photograph the magic and splendour that is the African bush. These first-hand experiences provide creative inspiration and an abundance of source material for originating future new pencil artworks.

"Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep." Scott Adams
