Anita Lamberti Fuchs began her artistic journey with watercolours, her first love. Over time, she has cultivated the skill and determination needed to achieve the loose, fluid appearance in oils that comes naturally with watercolours, where the pigments meld and flow with a life of their own.
While oils offer greater versatility, Anita is relishing the process of exploring assorted styles and techniques in this medium. Landscapes and seascapes are her preferred subjects, with a particular fondness for trees and forests.
Living in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, she is fortunate to be surrounded by beautiful forests. Her frequent walks often lead her to breathtaking scenes that vary daily with the changing seasons and cloud formations, ensuring that no view is ever the same. Trees hold a special magic for her. Standing alone in the forest, she feels a comforting presence from these tall, silent giants.
Anita's motto, "less is more," guides her artistic approach as she strives for simplicity in her future work. She delights in the thickness of the paint, using meaningful brushstrokes to create a straightforward yet powerful effect.
The lusciousness and tactile quality of the paint are rewards in themselves. She hopes to continue drawing inspiration from the beauty of the Western Cape’s Sea and forests.
