This artwork captures the grandeur of the towering pine trees in Tokei Forest, inviting you into a world of serene beauty and timeless wonder.
Anita Lamberti Fuchs began her artistic journey with watercolors, her first love. Over time, she has mastered the skill and determination needed to achieve the loose, fluid appearance in oils that come naturally with watercolors, where the pigments meld and flow with a life of their own. While oils offer greater versatility, Anita delights in exploring various styles and techniques in this medium.
Landscapes and seascapes are her favored subjects, with a particular affection for trees and forests. Living in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, she is surrounded by breathtaking forests. Her frequent walks lead her to scenes that shift daily with the changing seasons and cloud formations, ensuring no view is ever the same.
Trees, in particular, hold a special magic for Anita. Standing alone in the forest, she feels a comforting presence from these tall, silent giants. Guided by her motto, "less is more," she strives for simplicity in her work. She revels in the thickness of the paint, using meaningful brushstrokes to create a straightforward yet powerful effect. The luscious, tactile quality of the paint is a reward in itself.
Anita's hope is to continue drawing inspiration from the Western Cape's sea and forests, infusing her work with the natural beauty that surrounds her. Through her art, she invites you to feel the same awe and tranquility that nature inspires in her.
