My Cottage in Paradise
Experience the captivating charm of "My Cottage in Paradise," a captivating vineyard painting by acclaimed artist Carla Bosch. This original hand-painted acrylic on canvas artwork showcases the breathtaking beauty of the Western Cape's renowned spring flowers, all in the backdrop of a serene cottage setting.
Carla Bosch's landscapes radiate with the warmth and cheerfulness of South Africa's iconic protea flowers, often paired with scenes that capture the essence of coastal and street life. These elements resonate with Carla's vibrant personality, while her generous spirit shines through her masterful use of bright, bold, and beautiful colours. Through her impressionistic technique, Carla doesn't just paint; she pours her soul onto the canvas, infusing her works with profound emotion.
"My Cottage in Paradise" is more than just a painting; it's a window into Carla's world. Every brushstroke carries the essence of her soulful expression, inviting you to immerse yourself in the emotions woven into the canvas. Elevate your space with Carla Bosch's radiant artistry, where harmonious colours and captivating scenes come together in perfect harmony.
Carla Bosch's life of colour began in 1976 in South Africa's capital, Pretoria. The city's famous annual carpet of purple jacaranda blossoms no doubt inspired the bold impressionism that would years later entrance art lovers.
After finishing an Interior Design diploma at the Tshwane University of Technology, Carla's love for painting took over. Hard work paid off as numerous well-recognised art galleries requested her work. Several of these galleries remain loyal supporters and have hosted successful Carla Bosch Solo Exhibitions.
The warmth and cheerfulness of her landscapes, coastal and street scenes are true to Carla's vibrant personality, and her giving nature is evident in her liberal use of bright colours. "I grew up in a very creative environment," she says. "My father, Anton Gericke, was a pharmacist by day and an artist by night. His love for life and all things beautiful spilt over to me."
Bosch loves painting plein air but is equally at home in her studio, where Carla prefers to use images more as reference points rather than images to paint exact replicas from. Carla enjoys giving her impression of the subject matter without referencing pictures. She approaches a blank canvas with absolute creative boldness.
Along with gallery owners and collectors, other artists have also recognised her talent and have wished to learn from her. She taught at the Original Art Company's art school and has presented workshops to artists and novices alike.
Bosch has won numerous international awards and is represented by leading galleries in South Africa and the USA, where she now resides.
