The kopjes (small hills) in the distance appear to be whispering to each other. This name is evocative and captures the sense of mystery and timelessness of the African landscape.

Carla Bosch's landscapes radiate with the vibrancy of South Africa's iconic protea flowers and scenes familiar to coastal and street life. Her vibrant personality and generous spirit shine through her masterful use of bright, bold, and beautiful colours. Through her impressionistic approach, Carla paints not just with a brush, but with her heart and soul, resulting in artworks that resonate deeply.

"Whispering Kopjes" is more than a painting; it's an emotional journey. The emotions woven into every stroke transport you to Carla's perspective, evoking a powerful connection to her artistic expression. Elevate your space with the radiant beauty of Carla's artistry, inviting a harmonious blend of colours and scenes to enrich your surroundings.

About Artist

Carla Bosch's life of colour began in 1976 in Pretoria. The city's famous annual carpet of purple jacaranda blossoms no doubt inspired the bold impressionism that would years later entrance art lovers.

Although she studied interior design, her major artistic talent would not be denied. "I grew up in a very creative environment," she says. "My father, Anton Gericke, was a pharmacist by day and an artist by night. His love for life and all things beautiful spilt over to me."

The warmth and cheerfulness of her landscapes, coastal and street scenes are true to Carla's vibrant personality, and her giving nature is evident in her liberal use of bright colours.

Bosch loves painting plein air but is equally at home in her studio, where Carla prefers to use images more as reference points rather than images to paint exact replicas from. Carla enjoys giving her impression of the subject matter without referencing pictures. She approaches a blank canvas with absolute creative boldness.

Along with gallery owners and collectors, other artists have also recognised her talent and have wished to learn from her. She taught at the Original Art Company's art school and has presented workshops to artists and novices.

Bosch has won numerous international awards and is represented by leading galleries in South Africa and the USA, where she now resides.

Shipping Information

This safe and cost-effective packaging is our preferred packaging option. We'll remove the canvas from the stretcher frame and roll it up into this sturdy and protective cardboard tube for shipping. Upon delivery, simply have the canvas re-stretched at your local framer.FLAT-PACKED / BOXED
We package the artwork on its stretcher frame or in a frame. The artwork is securely bubble-wrapped and packed into a sealed cardboard box. This option offers good protection of your artwork while in-transit, without the additional cost associated with custom-crating.

We build a custom-crate specifically to provide the best protection for your artwork. However, it's also the most costly option. We recommend custom-crates for the transportation of fragile artworks such as sculptures, ceramics and very large painting
