Being a true nature lover, Stefan Rossouw’s art mostly depicts South Africa’s astonishing variety of fauna and flora. He used to exhibit at outdoor exhibitions and was a member of the Artists Under the Sun Association for some years.
As recently as 2009 this South African artist started to explore the art of sculpting. Finding this recently discovered creative route very rewarding, he now devotes most of his time to it. He sculpts in a type of wax, and thereafter the sculptures are cast in bronze by a renowned foundry in White River.
Staying true to his nature as a perfectionist, this South African artist studies every detail of his subjects intensely; ceaselessly analysing the anatomy and form of his subjects in order to understand the function of each part as he creates his distinctive South African sculpture.
“He only moves toward the perfection of his art whose criticism surpasses his achievement.”
