      Carla Bosch

Born 1976  |  Pretoria, South Africa

      BIOGRAPHY

Artist Carla Bosch’s life of color started January 14, 1976 in Pretoria, South Africa. Spring’s flood of purple Jacaranda tree blossoms in this, the capital city of South Afrrica would later inspire this artist’s bold use of color in her paintings.

After finishing an Interior Design diploma at the Tshwane University of Technology, Carla’s love for painting took over. Hard work paid off as numerous well-recognised art galleries requested her paintings. Many of these art galleries remain loyal supporters to this day and many have hosted extremely successful Carla Bosch Solo Art Exhibitions. The warmth and cheerfulness of her landscape paintings, coastal paintings and street scenes in her artworks are true to Carla’s vibrant personality and her giving nature is evident in her liberal use of bright colors in her art.

      ARTWORK STYLE

Artist Carla Bosch loves painting plein air and is equally at home in her studio where Carla prefers to use images more as reference points for her artwork rather than images to paint exact replicas from. Carla enjoys giving her impression of the subject matter without referencing pictures. She approaches a blank canvas with absolute creative boldness. This impressionistic approach allows her to paint from the eyes of her soul and maybe this is why there is such powerful emotion in her artwork. Carla mostly paints with professional acrylics on stretched canvas.

      Carla Bosch Father

Carla Bosch inherited her talent from her father, who is also her close friend. Although she never formally studied art, it is Carla’s desire to be an ever-developing artist. She embraces every opportunity to interact and learn from other artists. Likewise, other artists also recognised her talent and wanted to learn from her. Carla taught at the Original Arts Company’s art school and has presented multiple workshops to artists and novices alike. All of this teaching tied into her personal growth pattern.

"My paintings are peaceful and create atmosphere. God gave me this talent and I paint to glorify Him - it is a blessing to me!"

Her desire to be an ever-growing artist is now showing more than ever. Part of Carla's aspiration to grow included a yearning to establish a more international presence. She applied for an Extraordinary Ability Green Card in the USA and based on her artistic achievements and talents was duly awarded a Green Card by the USCIS in January 2015.

Carla is a Laguna Plein Air Painters Association (LPAPA) member and won the Randy Higbee Award at the LPAPA Showcase 2014. She was also a Best of Acrylics 2014 international competition winner. Her most recent accomplishments include being juried into the 2015 LPAPA Best of Plein Air Show, a first place award in the 2015 Paint San Clemente quick draw competition and no less than two honorable mentions in the 2015 Paint San Clemente main event. Carla has also for the second year been invited by the Crystal Cove Alliance Art Council to join a select group of plein air artists in showing their original paintings in the Crystal Cove 2016 Fine Art Programme. And to top it all off, she has been juried into the prestigious 2016 Festival of Arts / Pageant of the Masters art spectacular in Laguna Beach, California.

While Carla’s art finds its way all over the world, she and her family now reside in California, USA.
