Born: 1956 – KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa
Sue Dickinson studied B.A. (Fine Arts) at the University of the Witwatersrand from 1981-1983. After running her own graphic design studio, she elected to paint full-time in 1994. She became an "Associate Member" of the Watercolour Society of South Africa (AWSSA) in 1995.
Recently, Sue was awarded membership of the Society of Animal Artists (SAA). Sue's work appears on several South African postage stamps, including airmail tags commemorating the discovery of Thulamela, the world-famous archaeological site in the Kruger National Park. Her South African artwork is in private and corporate collections in South Africa, England, Germany, Italy, France, USA, Hong Kong, Brazil, Holland and Australia. Her optimism about all things African is celebrated in paintings such as "Days of Miracle and Wonder", which was a finalist in the Winsor & Newton Millennium Painting Competition.
